Blue Jays Top Sacred Heart 65-46
Morrilton- The Blue Jays (5-0) took their undefeated record on the road to Morrilton for a non-conference game with Sacred Heart on Friday night and left with a convincing 19-point win. Nevada got their lead up to 26 points in the third quarter and coasted from there to a 65-46 win. "We came into a gym that's always been tough to get a win in and after the long bus ride we responded the way we needed too, we are about to start a very tough stretch of games and we're excited for the challenge ," Coach Eddie Beck said when asked about the Nevada win on Friday night and their upcoming schedule.

The Blue Jays are set to face tough non-conference foes in DeQueen, Morrilton, and Drew Central in the next few weeks, before the gauntlet of Magnolia, Sylvan Hills, and Lake Hamilton over Christmas break.

Monti Mixon was having another great game, but was given a phantom tech on a dunk so his night was cut short. Mixon still managed a 19-point and 7 rebound outing in just under 3 quarters of play. Senior Kobe Hughey continues to impress with another 18 points and 6 rebounds, with Keyonte Wingfield fighting through more early foul trouble, scoring 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Rico Aparicio and Taco Roberson each had 5 points, Colton Burns 4 points, and Jordyn Harris adding 2.

The Blue Jays aren't back in action until next Friday when they head to DeQueen for a big road test against the Leopards. DeQueen girls will be hosting Taylor before the guys game next Friday night.
