Aniell Felipe got the Bobcats on the board, drilling a PK to give Hope a 1-0 lead just before the half. John Gutierrez did a great job drawing the foul in the penalty area to get the Bobcats a PK attempt.
The second half was a hard-fought half for Hope, as they saw their 1-0 lead evaporate as Robinson got on the board to even the game at 1-1 with under 20 minutes remaining. The game would head into Overtime, in a Golden Goal scenario, next goal wins.
The Senators were granted a free kick and they made the most of it, as they made a good shot to send Robinson to the finals with a 2-1 win over the Bobcats.
Hope played an excellent game, had a great weekend, and just an all around great season. The fans were electric, big props to the Bobcat faithful for showing up and supporting this great group of young men on the pitch.
In the State Tourney, Aniell scored 5 goals, Lucas Sanchez, John Gutierrez , Johnathan Hernandez, and Nathan Sanchez each scored 1 goal in the tourney.
Freshman GK Jacob Pacheco had a clean sheet against Warren and made a lot of great saves. Three more big years for Pacheco at keeper. Gio Ruiz and Dylan Mercado will both be back at defender next season.
To the seniors, hell of a run guys. Aniell, Brian, Ramos, John, Alex, Carlos, Fabian, Anthony, Angel, Misael, Jesus, and Jakhari, like Coach Marshall said yesterday, y'all left your mark on the program and gave the younger players a model to follow. Lot of wins this senior class racked up over the years.
No doubt in my mind, next year the Bobcats are going to be yet again a threat in the State Tourney. Great season.
