Boozman Features Lonoke County Farmer in Ag Committee Series Spotlighting Producers
WASHINGTON - U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman John Boozman (R-AR) is highlighting Arkansas rice farmer Mark Isbell as part of the committee’s “Faces Behind Farm Policy” series. The initiative amplifies the voices of America’s farmers, ranchers and producers, emphasizing the real people affected by agriculture legislation and regulations.

Isbell is a fourth-generation producer from Lonoke County who is helping advance innovative sustainability and conservation practices. He is a respected leader who has served on a number of professional organizations, including the USA Rice Sustainability Committee. Lawmakers on Capitol Hill, including Chairman Boozman, seek his perspective when developing agriculture policy. He has testified before both the Senate and House Agriculture Committees.

To preserve rural livelihoods and food security for all Americans, Isbell says that we must prioritize agriculture and recognize the cultural and economic importance of the industry.

“We've got challenges within both the marketplace and within government that are not adequately prioritizing agriculture and not realizing that it's the energy that everybody runs on,” Isbell said.
