Celebrate the holidays and local history with the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council’s 2025 Gingerbread House Competition. This year’s event honors the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary in 2026, with entries inspired by the William Jefferson Clinton Birthplace Home in Hope.

Community members have showcased their creativity and talent through a variety of gingerbread “house” designs—some traditional and others crafted from unique materials beyond the kitchen.

Now it’s the public’s turn to get involved. Visit the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council Facebook page to cast your vote for the Community Choice Award, sponsored by Farmers Bank & Trust. The winning entry will receive a $100 prize determined entirely by community votes.

Voting Dates: November 12–18, 2025
Where to Vote: https://www.facebook.com/SWAartsCouncil/ or in person at The Art Station, 200 E. Division Street, Hope
Winners Announced: November 20, 2025, during the Christmas Open House at 7:00 PM in the Hope Downtown Network building 109 S Main, downtown Hope.

In addition to the Community Choice Award, two additional honors—Most Creative and Most Realistic—will be chosen by a panel of judges through a blind voting process.

“This year’s competition is a sweet way to celebrate both our community’s creativity and local history,” said Rachel Pendergraft, Executive Director of the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council. “We can’t wait to see which design captures the community’s heart.”

Gingerbread houses will be on display at The Art Station from November 12–18, where visitors can view the entries and even cast their votes on-site.

Voting will take place via a Google Form linked on the Arts Council’s Facebook page. To keep things fair, please cast only one vote per email address.

Come celebrate creativity, community spirit, and the magic of the season with the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council.
