The evening included a gospel performance by Tara Gulley and speeches by Pastor Linda Butler of Ward Chapel AME Church and Pastor Frank Henson of First Baptist Church of Prescott.
Lynn Vanderveer auctioned off several donated items, including two benches (one of which converts to a picnic table), a palm sander, a gas heater, a personal heater, Air Tags, and an electric scooter. The proceeds go directly to the ministry.
In the awards portion of the evening, Rashalla Young read biographical introductions to each winner as Kay Curry presented plaques. After the ceremony, Pastor Curry, asked how he liked the turnout Saturday evening said, "The turnout is very good, and it was inspirational ... We thank God for them coming out. We thank God for the work they do."
What's next for Curry's Community Outreach? "December 21st we are going to give away toys," Curry said. "This is going to be our biggest giveaway. This is going to be more participated in than others, and we're just excited about helping these young people have a Merry Christmas. And this [auction] was just a good start."
