At the plate, seniors Brayden Cobb and Braxton Robertson each had a 3-hit night at the dish, with Cobb smashing a double and 2 singles, driving in 3 runs. Robertson had 2 RBI. Will Spears had another multi-hit game and scored 2 runs. Riley Mudford went boom and cleared the wall for a homerun. Brody Helms showed off his wheels, as he rounded the bases for a triple and added 2 RBI. Nick Wells, Nate Thomas, Cameron Bush, and Easton Bright each had a hit for Genoa.
Genoa is set to host the District Tournament which begins next week. Information on the bracket will be released as soon at it is finalized. Genoa Central finished conference play 6-1 and will be the #2 seed, which comes with a Regional Tournament birth.
Also, last Friday the Dragons traveled to Prescott and left with an impressive 13-0 win over the Curley Wolves. Hayden Teer picked up the win on the mound, striking out 4 batters. Cameron Bush tossed the final inning, striking out 2 batters. Nate Thomas led the way at the plate with 2 hits including a double. Cam Bush and Braxton Robertson both went yard in the game, as Bush finished with 3 RBI and Braxton had 2 RBI. Riley Mudford had a hit in the Dragons win.
