Evening Lions Club host community coffee at chamber
A Community Coffee was held this morning at the Hope Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce, hosted by the Hope Evening Lions Club.

Locals gathered for a morning of fellowship as members of the Evening Lions welcomed guests with a spread of refreshments. The table featured a variety of favorites including donuts, fruit, pinwheels, smokies, cake,  punch and much more.

The Evening Lions Club, made up of approximately 15 members, continues to serve the community in a number of meaningful ways. The organization assists families who have experienced loss due to fire or disaster, provides scholarships, and hosts a monthly food bank on the second Saturday of each month.

For those interested in joining, the Evening Lions meet on the first and third Mondays at 6:00 p.m. at the Amigo Juan’s annex. A Facebook page is also available for those who would like more information or to get connected with a member.

Kimberly McMahan, Administrative Assistant of the Chamber, emphasized the importance of groups like the Evening Lions.

“Organizations like the Evening Lions play such an important role in our community,” McMahan said. “Their willingness to serve and give back is what makes Hope such a strong and connected place.”

The morning served as another reminder of the generosity and community spirit that continues to thrive in Hope and Hempstead County.
