Fair Hills Extension Homemakers Welcome Guests with Food and Fellowship

Locals gathered at the Fair Hills Extension Homemakers Club Community Coffee this morning at the Nevada County Library for a time of fellowship, food, and learning more about the organization’s work across the community.

Guests were welcomed with a large spread of both sweet and savory treats including sandwiches, chips and dips, pigs in a blanket, cupcakes, cookie cake, and a variety of other homemade favorites. Attendees visited throughout the morning while enjoying refreshments and hearing updates about upcoming Extension Homemakers activities.

Club President Judy Duke welcomed those in attendance and introduced District Director Judy Van-Hamilton, who shared information about the upcoming state meeting set for June 2-4.

Van-Hamilton encouraged members to attend, saying the annual meeting offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with Extension Homemakers Clubs from across Arkansas while learning new ideas and skills.

“The state meeting is such a great opportunity to meet people from all over Arkansas and see what other clubs are doing in their communities,” said Van-Hamilton. “There are educational sessions, crafts, great food, and so many chances to learn more about Extension Homemakers and bring fresh ideas back home.”

Extension Homemakers Clubs across Southwest Arkansas are known for their community involvement and outreach efforts, often participating in service projects, educational programs, scholarships, food drives, and activities that support local families and organizations. The Fair Hills Extension Homemakers Club has remained active in promoting fellowship, volunteerism, and lifelong learning throughout Nevada County.

The morning concluded with continued fellowship and plenty of conversation as community members gathered together in support of the longtime organization.
