The Hempstead County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee hosted the Hospitality Table at Hope Farmers’ Market this morning to provide snacks and refreshments to market patrons. Vice Chair Priscilla Johnson said she and fellow committee members were delighted to join the market today. “One of our primary goals is to teach children where their food comes from,” Johnson said. “So being here to support our local farmers and meet more members of the community is a great way to build those connections that will help us in our mission.”
Also in attendance at the market today were Aunt Fern’s Fried Pies, Papa’s Honey, Lydia’s Baked Goods, and Joshua Tree with their various homemade foods and products. VC Farms, Green Farm, Solomon Farms, and Hannah’s Berries were also on the scene to provide fresh locally grown produce.
The Hope Farmers Market takes place every Tuesday morning from 7am to 11am at the Hub in downtown Hope. Farmers and vendors provide a variety of locally-grown fresh produce, canned items, baked goods, and homemade products.
