FOR AR KIDS COALITION KICKS OFF SERIES OF SIGNATURE-GATHERING EVENTS COINCIDING WITH DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR COMMUNITY CELEBRATIONS ACROSS THE STATE OF ARKANSAS
WHEN: Thursday, January 15th through Monday, January 19th (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Weekend)
WHAT: Volunteer canvassers and community organizers with the For AR Kids campaign are hosting a series of statewide signature-gathering events, focusing on the worthy objective of advocating for equity of resources, and fair oversight and standards for education in Arkansas.
This series of signature-gathering events illustrates and honors the legacy of Dr. King: meeting our neighbors where they are, while working for opportunities and equity for all students, families, and communities.
WHERE: For AR Kids will be in more than 20 communities across the state, connecting with fellow Arkansans who want to sign our petition in support of the 2026 Arkansas Educational Rights Amendment.
From Springdale to Jonesboro, and Prescott to Monticello, here’s a list of locations where the For AR Kids coalition will be collecting signatures during local MLK Day observances:
Baxter County: Mountain Home, Benton County: Rogers, Craighead County: Jonesboro, Drew County: Monticello, Faulkner County: Conway, Fulton County: Salem, Hempstead County: Hope, Jefferson County: Pine Bluff, Madison County: Huntsville, Nevada County: Prescott, Ouachita County: Camden, Pulaski County: Little Rock & Jacksonville, Stone County: Mountain View, Washington County: Fayetteville & Springdale

IN DEPTH: These public signature-gathering events should be wonderful opportunities for Media to collect imagery, quotes, and soundbites from volunteers and petition-signers about the importance of supporting education in Arkansas, as well as the connection to Dr. King’s legacy of advocacy.
