The 6th graders showcased their solar system, Hobbit projects and proudly talked about all the work and fun that went into each one. Next, they gave tours of the facility to attendees.
6th grade teacher Randi Eskridge, said, “Our sixth grade class asks every year to hold a community coffee, just to invite the community, come check out our school and just to get to know everybody. The sixth grade class worked really hard on a Hobbit project all year long and they wanted to show that off as well as a solar system project. This is a great chance for us to get together and meet people of the community and for the sixth graders to get a chance for leadership.”
Christy Burns, Director of the Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce was present and said, "I love that the students at GMSC want to have community coffees and be involved in the community. They always do such a great job.”
