Alabama has looked its best in recent years this season as the Tide have compiled a 3-2 record and a 197.435 team average score, which places them in the top three nationally. While Alabama took a loss to No. 1 Oklahoma last week, the Tide also put up their second-highest score of the season in the contest, 197.475.
Arkansas is coming off a 3-1 double weekend that kicked off with a 197.450-197.050 upset of then-No. 6 Georgia. The team then traveled to Fort Worth for Sunday’s Metroplex Challenge, where they posted a season high 197.700 team score to finish in second and notched a new program record on vault, 49.675.
While the Gymbacks broke their recent defeated streak to the Crimson Tide with a tie in the 2024 season, Arkansas has not beaten Alabama since 2017. The Gymbacks’ last win over the Crimson Tide was at home, and of the program’s five total victories over Alabama, only one has come in Tuscaloosa.
Arkansas has the advantage on vault and beam going into the meet, while Alabama holds higher averages on bars and floor. The Crimson Tide are the top bars team in the country (49.455) and check in at No. 2 on floor (49.470).
Friday’s meet is set for 6:30 p.m. in Tuscaloosa and will be streamed live on SEC Network+, with live scoring provided by Virtius.
