Hamilton-Davis Funeral Celebrates 4th Anniversary after Change of Ownership

Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home celebrated their fourth anniversary on October 29 th , 2025, after a change
of ownership this past May. As of May 28 th, 2025, Pastor Kevin Murphy became the new Co-Owner of
the facility. Pastor Murphy is not a stranger to the business; he served as a funeral director for the
business for around eighteen months prior to him becoming its new co-owner, prior to coming here he
served as a Funeral Director at Marks Funeral Home and an Apprentice Embalmer at R.L. Reed Funeral
Home in Magnolia, Arkansas. We still have the same thoughts about serving this and our surrounding
communities. Since our opening in October of 2021, our motto has been, “We Only Get One Chance to
Make a Final Impression.” While the co-owner has changed, the quality of service and the name have or
will not. Hamilton-Davis will remain the same with the intention of using three Rs in our daily business,
Respect, Reputation and Relationships. We have and will continue to try to gain your respect, keep all
you happy by building an honest reputation and establish relationships that will be lasting for those we
serve.

The relationship between Alvis Hamilton and Kevin Murphy has blossomed into a very pleasant business
atmosphere that will prayerfully last both a lifetime. After the business ownership was changed the
conversation had to be held about the name. Murphy stated that, “It’s not what’s going on the outside
of the building that’s taking place inside.” Since Hamilton’s dad’s Name was Alvis Hamilton and his
mother’s name was Helen Davis prior to marriage, it just seemed appropriate to leave the name as is.

We want to become a household name when it comes to professional and compassionate funeral
services, so that we are thought about first at a family’s time of need. Alvis Hamilton is a proud
graduate of Stamps High School, Class of 1982, and Kevin Murphy is a proud 1986 graduate of Waldo
High School. Alvis went on to serve in the United States Army and served for a total of 30 years, his last
eleven years were as a Mortuary Affairs Sergeant and took care of Soldiers and Civilians who had been
killed on the battlefield in Iraq, Afghanistan and while living or serving in Germany. Kevin attended and
graduated from Southern Arkansas University. In later years both became ministers and have a firm
belief that if we do good long enough, good will come back to us. Murphy is the Pastor of Spirit Led
Fellowship Church in Magnolia and Hamilton is an associate minister at St. James Baptist Church of
Lewisville.

We are independently owned and are not associated with or connected to any other funeral home or
any other entity. We are solely Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home.
