FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas' John Calipari had a big day on Tuesday landing both his top big targets from the transfer portal.

Calipari landed Florida State's Malique Ewin, 6-11, 230, and South Carolina's Nick Pringle, 6-10, 220. Calipari had a need for two bigs and identified Ewin and Pringle as the priority targets.

In 30 games this past season, Ewin averaged 14.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steal and 0.8 block per game. Ewin shot 59.6% from the field. He chose the Razorbacks over Kansas, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Kentucky among others. In a game against LSU, Ewin had 17 points and 17 boards. He started his career at Ole Miss before heading to Florida State.

Pringle played in 32 games for the Gamecocks this past season. He averaged 9.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.5 steal and 0.4 block. Pringle shot 57.2% from the field. He chose the Razorbacks over Auburn, Southern Cal, Missouri, Ole Miss, Clemson, North Carolina State, Kansas State, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and Georgetown among others. Pringle played two seasons at Alabama prior to his one with the Gamecocks. He started his career at Wofford.

In the 72-53 South Carolina win over Arkansas on March 1, Pringle scored 18 points, pulled down nine rebounds and had two steals.

The additions of Ewin and Pringle give Calipari and the Hogs a total of six committed/signed players as they join Karim Rtail (6-9 forward, international prospect from Lebanon who committed to Arkansas in March) to go with a top 5-ranked high school recruiting class in 2025 national Top 5 / 5-star and McDonald’s All American Darius Acuff, Jr. (6-3 guard, Detroit native, IMG Academy, pledged to the Hogs in late July 2024 and signed in November 2024); 2025 national Top 10 / 5-star and McDonald’s All American Meleek Thomas (6-4 guard, Pittsburgh native, Overtime Elite, pledged to and signed with the Hogs in mid-November 2024); and national Top 70 / 4-star Isaiah Sealy (6-7 combo guard / wing, Springdale, pledged to and signed with the Hogs in mid-November 2024).

At this time, the Hogs are hoping to return guard D.J. Wagner, forward Trevon Brazile, forward Karter Knox and forward Billy Richmond III from last year's team.
