The high attendance at Wednesday morning’s Meet the Chancellor event at the J.W. Rowe Administration Building on the UAHT campus was a measure of the importance of the growing institution to Hope citizens who came out in force to greet newly-installed Chancellor Ricky Tompkins.

Held in the building’s lobby while coffee, doughnuts and other items were on lovely display in the conference room, the event drew county, city and business leaders as well as students and staffers from UAHT itself.

After the event, the gratified Tompkins reflected on what the morning meant.  “I was amazed at having the people from the community turn out, and it just shows just how much the college is supported. I appreciate that.  Based on all the conversations, the whole community wants us to continue to move forward, continue to serve our students and serve our community.  They’re going to behind us, and it's great to see.”
