Hornets Begin 2025 with 64-22 Blowout Win Over Guy-Perkins
Conway- The Blevins Hornets took the field for the first time in 2025 on Thursday and walked away with a convincing win over Guy-Perkins 64-22. The Hornets defense swarmed to the ball all game long and the offense showed just how talented they are, as they put up a 60-piece on opening night. The big guys up front dominated the trenches and set the tone for Blevins.

Hayden Newton rushed for 257 yards and three TDs on 28 carries and Kaden Powell scored five TDs and ran for 218 yards, as the ground attack for Blevins was dominant. Jackson Bonner ran into the endzone for a score and finished the game with 26 yards. Andrew Block scored a two-point conversion. KD Robinson was a standout up front in the blocking game for Coach West's squad.

Kaden Powell had six tackles and a sack on defense. Anthony Orosco had four tackles and Hayden Newton and Kayston Phillips each had two tackles. Newton and Bonner each had two PBUs (pass breakups). AJ Davidson, Hinton, Benny Perez, and Michael Pennington each made plays on defense, with Pennington adding a pair of sacks and a recovered a safety.

It was the first varsity win for the Blevins program, and it looks as if there will be more wins this season, as they looked much improved over this past offseason.
