On Thursday, January 1st, 2026 at 8:57am, deputies with the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office
arrested John M. Smith, 46 of Hope, AR in the 100 block of Bream Street. Mr. Smith was
charged with a warrant for the offense of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and Violation of a
Protection Order. Mr. Smith was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and
held pending a first court appearance.
