On Friday, April 25th, 2025 at about 4:45pm, officers with the Hope Police Department arrested Benjamin J. Newton Jr, 32 of Hope, in the 400 block of South Elm Street. Mr. Newton was charged with Forgery 2nd Degree, Fleeing and Criminal Trespass and held at the Hempstead County Detention Facility awaiting a first court appearance. 

On Sunday, April 27th, 2025 at about 2:01pm, officers with the Hope Police Department arrested William Clifton Pool Jr., 25 of Hope, in the 800 block of Mockingbird Street. Mr. Pool was charged with Aggravated Assault and Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree. Pool was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility to be held for a first court appearance.
