On Sunday, February 15th, 2026 at 12:56pm, officers with the Hope Police Department were
dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 200 block of Bill Clinton Drive. While enroute,
officers were informed that an occupant of the vehicle had been previously shot.

Rodney Richardson Jr., 20 of Hope, AR was found at the scene of the motor vehicle accident,
suffering from a gunshot wound. Richardson was transported to Southwest Arkansas Regional
Medical Center. Unfortunately, Richardson succumbed to his injuries.

The location of the shooting was determined and law enforcement began the investigation. A
suspect in the case was developed and Cordarianis K. Hampton of Hope turned himself
in to law enforcement. This case is still an active and fluid investigation. Charges are pending.
