Many gather streetside for SW District Livestock Show Fair Parade
The longest of all the parades that regularly course through Hope, the Southwest District Livestock Show Parade started on South Elm Tuesday at 6:00 p.m, moving north into the downtown area.  Sitting and standing room was scarce on North Elm as the vehicles and floats moved through, many of their passengers in formal evening dresses as pageant winners and contestants or joining voices in cheers or showing off their homecoming suits as school royalty

Judges for the parade contest no doubt had a difficult time but did come to decisions for each category.  Winners were announced near the end of the Southwest District Fair Queen Pageant the same night.

In the Queens Category first place was Laken Pugh, second was Eliza Thompson, third was the Nevada County Fair Queens.

In the open category, first place was Justin Crane for Hempstead County Sheriff; second was Brazzel Funeral Home and third was Hope Church of Christ.

In the junior category, first place was Garrett Memorial Christian School's Homecoming Court; second was Spring Hill's Homecoming Court; third was Cub Scout Pack 5.

As well as broadcasting the parade live, SWARK.Today also dispatched a photographer to capture as many moments as possible. He hopes he found a few you enjoy:
