The group headed out to the area alongside the TA Truck Stop, a spot that has become unfortunately known for being a bit "trashy" due to litter and garbage frequently tossed out by passing truck traffic.
The crew spent a couple of hours braving the cold, picking up the mess and clearing out the debris. Thanks to their hard work, the area is looking much cleaner and more welcoming.
This cleanup effort comes at a perfect time, echoing a recent message from the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT). ARDOT recently posed a question to Arkansans asking if they are "part of the problem or part of the solution" when it comes to litter.
Littering affects the beauty of our Natural State, and as Mayor Oliver and his team showed this morning, it takes real effort to keep our community clean. We need to raise awareness of how this work can improve our environment. Kudos to Mayor Oliver and the city workers for leading by example and being part of the solution!
