Multi-County Christmas Food Drive Organized to Support Injured Jr. Miss Lafayette County and Families in Need

Multi-County Christmas Food Drive Organized to Support Injured Jr. Miss Lafayette County and Families in Need
A Christmas food drive spanning multiple Southwest Arkansas counties is underway to support Jr. Miss Lafayette County Brooklyn Cook and families in need this holiday season.

The effort is being led by Jr. Miss Hempstead County Raylee Adkinson following a serious car accident involving Cook and her younger brother. Cook sustained two breaks in her neck and has undergone surgery.

In response, Raylee organized a Christmas food drive to benefit both Hempstead and Lafayette counties. Donations collected in Hempstead County will be given to Hope In Action, while half of the overall donations will be directed to Lafayette County in honor of Cook.

The initiative has since expanded to include Jr. Miss Nevada County Kennedy Gray, bringing the effort to three counties working together to support families during the Christmas season.

Currently, three drop-off locations have been established:

  • Tailgaters Burger Company in Hope
  • Hebrews 11:1 in Hope (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
  • The Blossoms Nursing Home in Prescott (donations may be dropped off with Brittany Gray)

Community members are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items, blankets, and cases of water. Organizers hope to have all donations collected by Tuesday, December 23, to allow time for delivery.

Organizers expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support shown to Brooklyn Cook, her brother Bryson, and their family, as well as for the continued sharing of information to reach as many families as possible.

Those wishing to help are encouraged to donate or share information about the drive as the community comes together to support families in need this Christmas season.
