Prescott School District Investigating Accusation Against Staff Member; Officials Urge Patience as Process Unfolds
The Prescott School District confirmed this week that an investigation is currently underway regarding an accusation made against a staff member. While social media speculation has been widespread, SWARK.Today reached out directly to district and law enforcement leadership to provide the community with a report based solely on verified facts and official statements.

The incident first came to light following a track meet at Nashville High School. According to an official statement released by the Prescott School District, a staff member was confronted by two individuals who were broadcasting live on Facebook.

Upon learning of the confrontation, school administration took immediate action. The staff member was removed from the premises and escorted home by the District School Resource Officer (SRO). Following a meeting with District Superintendent Larry Smith the next morning, the employee was removed from campus pending the resolution of the matter.

In its official statement, the District emphasized its commitment to student safety: "Our investigation into the incident is ongoing. At this time, we are not aware of any of our students being involved, but that does not decrease the seriousness of the accusation or the need to be fully investigated."

Seeking further clarification on the status of the investigation, SWARK.Today spoke with Nate Cornish, Chief of Police for the Prescott High School Police Department, who confirmed that the matter is under active investigation. "Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating," Cornish said, noting that any further news regarding the status of the investigation would be released by the Superintendent’s office. No arrests have yet been made.

SWARK.Today also spoke directly with Superintendent Smith.

"All I can say at this time is we are investigating an accusation made against a staff member," he said. "We are following all protocols and guidelines, and the issue has been reported to the state board and all proper authorities. Upon the completion of our investigation, whatever findings we have will dictate the next course of action."

Smith stressed that, despite the high volume of public discussion currently circulating, the matter remains in the investigative stage. "All we have right now is an accusation, and we are taking the proper steps," he said.

While various online platforms have been sources of rumors surrounding the incident, district officials are reminding the public that this is a serious matter and due process must take place. Privacy laws and the necessity of maintaining the integrity of the ongoing investigation limit the information that can be legally shared at this time.

The District has stated it will release additional information if and when it becomes available. SWARK.Today will continue to follow official channels and provide updates as they are verified.
