Rain totals from recent storm system in for Hope, Prescott
The recent storm that spawned high winds, rain and even tornados in southwest Arkansas starting a week ago today left 11.34 inches of rain in Hope and 9.1 inches in Prescott according to Community Collaborative Rain Hail & Snow Network .

A volunteer from each town submitted readings each day to the network, which collects measurements from other volunteers nationwide to compile information about weather.  

The readings for Hope showed that on Thursday, April 3rd, the town received .89 inches of rain. Then on April 4th it received 1.01 inches, on April 5th 6.40 inches and April 6th 3.01 inches. On the last day of rainfall associated with the storm, on April 7th, the town received .03 inches.

In Prescott, the volunteer’s readings showed 1.28 inches fell April 3rd, .71 inches April 4th, 5.21 inches April 5th, 1.88 inches April 6th and .02 inches April 7th. 

Community Collaborative Rain Hail & Snow Network, according to the website’s About Us page is “a unique, non-profit, community-based network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow).”  The site further explains that by “using low-cost measurement tools, stressing training and education, and utilizing an interactive Web-site, our aim is to provide the highest quality data for natural resource, education and research applications. We are now in all fifty states.”
