FAYETTEVILLE -- Ryan Silverfield hired Marion Hobby from Tennessee to coach the defensive line in December, but CBS' Matt Zenitz is reporting he is set to be hired by the Indianapolis Colts.
Hobby has extensive experience in both college and the NFL. At Arkansas, Hobby would receive $700,000 per year through 2028.
Prior to returning to college as an assistant defensive line coach for the Vols, Hobby was in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars and left the Cincinnati Bengals to head to Knoxville. Hobby had also coached the New Orleans Saints.
Hobby, 59, actually started his coaching career as strength and conditioning coach at Tennessee-Martin in 1995. From there he had college stops at Louisiana-Lafayette, Clemson, Duke, Ole Miss and another time with Tennessee.
At Indianapolis, Hobby will work for head coach Shane Steichen.
Silverfield also hired Kynjee' Cotton as the run game coordinator and defensive line coach.
