Razorbacks Sign 21 Total Recruits to Complete Silverfield’s First Class
By Otis Kirk

FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas added three more recruits on National Signing Day for Ryan Silverfield's first class after signing 18 high school players in the early signing period.

On Wednesday, Arkansas added Fayetteville four-star quarterback Hank Hendrix, 6-3, 175, Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College defensive tackle Antonio Sandal-Bascomb, 6-3, 305, and and Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College edge J'Lynn Allen, 6-7, 245. Allen played his high school football at North Little Rock.

These 21 recruits will go with the 42 scholarship players from the transfer portal. All 42 portal signees plus some preferred walk-on recruits are now attending class. Of the 18 high school recruits signed in December, 13 are now enrolled at Arkansas. The other five will join Wednesday's three signees arriving in late May or early June.

Hendrix reclassified from the Class of 2027 to 2026 to begin his college career a year earlier. His father, Che Hendrix, is a senior defensive analyst with the Razorbacks. He was formerly a very successful head coach at Boerne (Texas) High School.

On3 had ranked Hendrix the No. 5 quarterback in the Class of 2027 and top recruit in the state. Hendrix started 34 games in three years in his high school career, amassing 9,425 yards and completing 67.4% of his passes. In his lone season at Fayetteville HS, passed for 3,602 yards and 32 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 63.1% of his passes to go with six rushing touchdowns. At Boerne as a junior he passed for 4,237 yards with 46 touchdowns and six interceptions on 70.4% passing over 15 games. Started as a true freshman in 2023, passing for 1,586 yards with 18 TDs and one interception while completing 70.4% of his passes across nine games."

Allen was the new addition to Arkansas since he was only one uncommitted prior to Wednesday. He redshirted at Hutchinson in 2024. Played in 11 games, making 31 tackles with 14 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass breakups in 2025 as a redshirt freshman. He will have three years remaining at Arkansas. He played alongside Arkansas' Quincy Rhodes Jr. at North Little Rock.

Sandel-Bascomb was committed to Silverfield and his staff at Memphis prior to the coaching change. He was then offered by Silverfield at Arkansas and jumped on board. He started his career at Iowa Western Community College. He redshirted in 2023 and then played in 2024.

Sandel-Bascomb transferred to Coffeyville for his redshirt sophomore season. He recorded a career-best 29 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks over eight games. He will play on the interior defensive line at Arkansas.
