Refreshments were available for locals that came in to browse the various items throughout the store, including clothing and a little bit of everything befitting a boutique: racks of clothes of all sizes, shoes, and styles, jewelry, nails, pottery and so much more. 

Mayor Don Still was in attendance and welcomed everyone, “I am always excited to see a new business come into Hope and I wish you the very best,” Still said. 

Owners Susan Jones and Liz Sergeant talked a little bit about the new store and hours. “For the summer hours will be a little sporadic, evenings 6-7, Sunday after church until we see what the demand is. We have a little bit of everything here, and we invite everyone to come out, browse around and enjoy the atmosphere.” 

Speaking of future plans, Sergeant said, “We have an eBay store, and we’re planning to set up a small kiosk where people can browse and shop from it in person if they’d like. We’re also working on a punch card system—we’re still figuring out the details, but it’s something we’re excited to offer. We’re calling it ‘Loyalty Royalty’—just a fun way to show appreciation to our regulars. We want to always have prizes, perks, or little surprises to make people feel welcome and at home. We’re even considering a bit of personal shopping! So if someone tells us, ‘I can never find a size seven shoe,’ and we come across one while we’re out picking, we’ll grab it for you—because when you’re part of our Loyalty Royalty. We’ve got your back.”

Executive Director of the Hope Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce, Christy Burns said, “This is a really neat little store and they have a ton of interesting items. It’s always a blessing to have a new business with great people join our community.”
