On the social media platform X, the NBC News report said, postings could be seen reporting a problem starting at 11:00 a.m. today. Verizon Wireless then posted a message at 1:14 p.m. which said, "We are aware of an issue impacting wireless voice and data services for some customers. Our engineers are engaged and are working to identify and solve the issue quickly. We understand how important reliable connectivity is and apologize for the inconvenience."
Verizon Wireless has about 146 million subscribers. There is no word as yet when the outage will be fixed.
