Taste of Hope Goes Main Street
“Oh, the Places We Will Go”
Beckie Moore, Executive Director of Hope Downtown Network shared, “The dual-meaning
theme was selected due to the fact that Hope Downtown Network is now an Associate Level
member of Main Street Arkansas, and the event has relocated from 2 nd Street to Main Street.
Throughout the event, we will share the places “we will go” thanks to our community who
strongly believes in downtown revitalization and historic preservation.”
Taste of Hope will celebrate 12 plus locally owned restaurants and eateries. Each one will be
set up on Main Street and will be serving a specialty menu item that they offer daily or weekly.
The participating restaurants and eateries enjoy decorating in the theme of the event. In
addition to enjoying delicious food tastings, attendees have the opportunity to help select the
winners of our annual restaurant/eatery awards. Hope Downtown Network has confirmed the
following restaurants & eateries will be present at the event. It is possible that additional
restaurants will be participating.

Exciting activities and “extras” are included in the ticket price. Join the fun and enjoy face
painting, chalk art & bubble fun, BINGO with downtown retail gift cards as prizes, a LIVE and
silent auction, paint-by-number mural, Fund-a-Project vote, specialty Seuss-drinks and Seuss-
cakes, photo ops, and unique handouts. Local & Lovin’ It t-shirts will be sold at the event for
$20 each. To close out the event, a movie will be shown in the downtown pocket park. This
year’s movie will be The Lorax. HDN encourages everyone to bring chairs and join us in the
park for the showing of the movie.
A unique feature for this year’s event is the Taste of Hope Silent Auction with a Twist. Early
bidding on silent auction items will take place from Monday, September 29 through October 3
at the following banks: Farmers Bank & Trust, Diamond Bank, and The First National Bank of
Tom Bean. The final bids will take place during the event on October 4.
Hope Downtown Network thanks the following organizations that volunteered to provide
additional fun at this year’s event. First United Methodist Church, President William Jefferson
Clinton Birthplace Home National Historic Site, Hempstead County Extension Services, Hope
Civitan Club, First Baptist Church, and Hempstead County Historical Society.
Extra-special thanks to Taste of Hope Sponsors for supporting downtown revitalization.
