Lesley serves as President of Ledwell Enterprises, a family-owned and operated business that has been a cornerstone of the Texarkana community for decades. Under her leadership, the company has expanded its manufacturing capabilities, creating jobs and strengthening the local economy. In 2023, Lesley oversaw the opening of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, a significant milestone that underscored her commitment to innovation and excellence. She has consistently emphasized gratitude to the dedicated employees, loyal customers, and the Texarkana community that have been essential to Ledwell’s ongoing success.
“Lesley has been innovative and a driving force her entire life. She is an ambassador for Texarkana, and she runs a company that she makes better each day,” said her father, Steve Ledwell.
In response to receiving the award, Lesley shared, “It was a surprise and honor to be given the Chamber’s Woman of the Year award. And I very much appreciate it. However, I want to be clear that while I may have been singled out this year, there is a whole battalion of dedicated, impressive women in Texarkana working their butts off every day to make this community a better place. You can see and feel the difference they’re making. It’s just one reason why Texarkana, USA, is such a special place. And I’m proud to be a part of it.”
Beyond her role at Ledwell, Lesley is deeply involved in the Texarkana community. She serves on the Texarkana College Board and is a driving force behind Pitch It, a local entrepreneurial initiative. Lesley is also a member of the ARTX-REDI board, which focuses on regional economic development, and a graduate of Leadership Texarkana, where she was instrumental in bringing the innovative Strategic Doing framework to the region.
Lesley’s academic journey took her from Duke University to the University of Texas at Austin, where she developed the foundational skills that have fueled her success in business and leadership. She and her husband, Adam, are proud parents to three daughters, further inspiring her commitment to creating a thriving, opportunity-rich community for future generations.
The Woman of the Year Award is not just a recognition of professional success, but a celebration of character, resilience, and the lasting impact that one individual can have on an entire community. It is a testament to the strength, determination, and influence of women who break barriers, shatter expectations, and pave the way for others. Lesley Ledwell-Dukelow embodies these ideals, making her the perfect choice for this historic honor.
