Texarkana, USA- The Texarkana Winds, Texarkana’s Community Concert Band, announces our 2025Summer Concert Series. The free concerts will be held on the front porch of the 1894 Gallery, 105 Olive Street in downtown Texarkana. The concerts will begin at 7:00 p.m., on Friday, June 13th, and at 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 11th. These family friendly concerts are free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair and spend an hour of your Friday nights enjoying the music of the Texarkana Winds. The first concert is entitled “British Invasion” and will feature a variety of music from Great Britain. Classic pieces written for Concert Band by English Composers, Ralph Vaughn Williams and Gustav Holst will be performed, as well as a medley of tunes from the musical “Phantom of the Opera” by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Music from The Beatles will also be highlighted during the performance with a medley of tunes
including: “All You Need Is Love,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “With A Little Help From My Friends,” “Michelle,” and, “I
Want To Hold Your Hand.” Our second concert on July 11th will be an “All America” extravaganza. This concert features a variety of
American musical styles and will feature medleys of patriotic music and solos from members of the TXK Winds. American composers such as Irving Berlin and John Philip Sousa will be highlights of the program. TXK Winds conductor Richard Eckstein states, “This event will be a flag waving event presented to stir your patriotic emotions. We hope to have the whole community come and participate.”
