The Top Dog Shootout, an all-day basketball event, will happen in the Prescott High School gym this coming Saturday, January 27th, in which teams of third and fourth grade, and fifth and sixth grade boys and girls from Prescott, Murfreesboro, Hope and Texarkana will be showing their skills.
Carlos VanHook, Prescott Parks and Recreation Director said the event will be in honor of Tony Gillard, nicknamed Top Dog, who has served as either a referee or coach of basketball for 35 years.
Admission is $5, with the first game starting at 9:00 a.m. and the last starting at 6:30 p.m.
The teams competing will represent the already-mentioned Prescott, Hope and Murfreesboro. Two teams from Texarkana, the Texarkana Lakers and Xtreme Sports, will also take to the court.
