Anna Powell, Executive Director of HCEDC said in a release this afternoon, "This is a big win for our community, and we are proud to see continued growth in Hope and Hempstead County."
She said that in a 2024-25 Retail Academy, participants found the farm supply sector to be a major gap in our area's offerings and that the location of Tractor Supply here would close that "and will provide valuable products and services to our residents."
Previously farmers had to make the 35-mile jaunt to Texarkana to find a Tractor Supply.
Powell said, "This win follows several other retail successes for our community in recent years, including the addition of Harbor Freight Tools and the new Speedway truck stop currently under construction."
