United Way of Hempstead County proudly announces the 5th Annual Golf & Gala, set for Thursday, October 22, followed by the Glenn Woodruff Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, October 23, at the Hope Country Club. This two-day event continues to grow as a signature celebration of community support and impact.

This event will benefit more than a dozen local nonprofit agencies through grant funding, supporting essential services across Hempstead County.

Organizations supported include Hempstead County 4-H, Christian Charitable Medical Clinic, Domestic Violence Prevention, Harvest Regional Food Bank, The CALL, Hope’s 1st Choice Pregnancy Resource Center, Hope in Action 1 & 2, Hope Senior Citizens Center, Hospice of Hope & Texarkana, Junior Auxiliary of Hope, and The Byrd House.

Sponsorships opportunities will be available soon for those who wish to help recognize and uplift these hardworking agencies and their volunteers. Guests can look forward to a red-carpet Gala evening filled with elegance and entertainment, followed by an exciting day on the course, both designed to combine purpose with celebration.

Gala Chair Shelly Short shared her excitement, saying, “In my second year as chair, I continue to be inspired by what this event represents for our community. Last year was truly remarkable, and it showed just how powerful generosity and teamwork can be. It’s an honor to work alongside such a dedicated group to bring this event to life, and we’re looking forward to building on that momentum to make an even greater impact this year.”
