The results were 354 for the tax and 182 against.  

The tax was promoted by the Quorum Court as a replacement for a 3/4 cent tax that is set to expire in October. County Judge Mike Otwell said, if passed, the new sales tax would provide funds to renovate the county courthouse, fix the jail roof and bring the county's landfill up to Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality specifications.
