Wednesday, June 24, 2026 – Hope, Arkansas – Get ready to sing your heart out! The Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the return of Watermelon Idol, one of the most anticipated events of the 50th Annual Hope Watermelon Festival – Golden Jubilee Celebration. This year’s competition will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. on the Farmers Bank & Trust Stage.
Aspiring performers 16 years of age and older are invited to compete for trophies and cash prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. The overall winner will also earn a special opportunity to perform later that evening at Legion Field prior to the concert featuring Mae Estes and Gretchen Wilson. (Please note: a concert ticket is required to attend the evening performance.)
Official Rules
Limited to 10 entries total. First come, first served.
Performances are limited to four minutes per act.
Vocalists only.
Previous overall winners are not eligible to compete.
There are no separate categories for age groups or individual/group acts.
Unsportsmanlike conduct, including arguing with or harassing judges, will not be tolerated.
Contestants who are not present when called to perform will be disqualified.
Contestants must provide their own soundtracks.
The judges' decisions are final.
