Prescott- The Wolves got a big conference win over Centerpoint on Monday night, as they won the game in walk-off fashion 7-6, as Wes Cornelius scored the winning run for Prescott, after Centerpoint scored 3 runs in the 7th to tie the game at 6-6. Prescott would display some resilience, as they found a way to win a close game Monday night.
Spencer Hubbard got the nod from Coach McCauley on Monday, as he scattered just 1 ER on 3 hits and struck out 5 batters in 3 innings of work. Wes Harper came in relief and tossed 3 1/3 innings and allowed 3 ER and struck out 6. Wes Cornelius came in and got the Wolves out of a jam, recording the final two outs, including a big strikeout.
At the plate for Prescott, Wes Cornelius had a 2-hit game and drove in 1 run. Marketric Mixon smashed a double and had 2 RBI. Keegan Simmons had a hit and 2 RBI, as well as drawing a pair of walks, as he reached base safely 3 times on Monday. Jayden Purtle had a single and an RBI. Spencer Hubbard reached base safely twice and scored 2 runs.
Prescott is back on the diamond on Wednesday as they host Jessieville.
