Work crews halted traffic on Hope's East Third this morning to address rough patches
A group of workers with trucks marked Arkansas Department of Transportation were asphalting problem areas on East Third Street in Hope late Monday morning.

Traffic was restricted to one lane in the stretch from Bill Clinton Boulevard to just before South Spruce as two sign-holders and flaggers coordinated to halt westbound traffic every once in a while to allow eastbound traffic to use the westbound lane.  Drivers experienced delays of only two or three minutes at maximum.

By 1:30 p.m. the contingent of workers had gone and traffic on both lanes was passing through free and clear.  About three asphalted areas could be seen where the workers had just been.
