James Riley Taylor
James Riley Taylor, age 91, of Hope, AR passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 in Texarkana. He was born January 23, 1927 in Jasper, AR to John Fletcher Taylor and Hattie Hamm Taylor.
He was a member of Marlbrook Baptist Church. James relocated to Northern California at an early age and went on to become a vineyard and cattle ranch manager. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He had a passion for horses and growing varietal grapes, and was an expert horseman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Vilas Taylor, Jimmy Ray Taylor and John “Jay” Taylor; three sisters, Floy Mullins, Eunice “June” Taylor and Leta Hanks.
James is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Lea Taylor; his daughter Mary Taylor; one son, Don Taylor (Marilyn); as well as his sisters Amy Taylor Barton and Leona Walker; his three brothers, Troy Taylor Jesse Taylor and Robert Taylor; a grandson Dustin Taylor, and his niece Vonda Dees (James), as well as other family and friends.
Memorial Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home in Hope, Arkansas.
