Lancie Taylor

Brother Lancie Taylor, son of the late R.C. Taylor, Sr. and Florine Walker Taylor was born on April 23, 1952. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at a local hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents, R.C. Taylor, Sr. and Florine (Walker) Taylor and sister, Maple J. Taylor-Swift.
Lancie united with St. Luke CME Church at an early age. He served as a member of the Trustee Board, Stewards Board and the Male Choir. He was a graduate of the Class of 1970 at Lincoln High School in Washington, AR. He worked at Champion Parts in Hope, AR, Arquest in Camden, AR and Husqvarna in Nashville, AR. He was a member of the Arkansas Trailblazers for over 30 years.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories: one son, Marcus Taylor (Shandria) of Ozan, AR; two sons he raised as his own, Jerrold Jordan (Oluwayemisi) of Houston, Texas and Jason Jacobs (Kristi) of Camden, AR; seven grandchildren, Lakiyah, Zaniyah, Ke’Asia, Ki’Yana, Tywone, Serenity and De’Cameron; three brothers, Leonard Taylor (Elsie), R.C. Taylor, Jr. (Marie) of Ozan, AR and Stanley Taylor of Hope, AR; five sisters, Carolyn Taylor (John) of Gary, Indiana, Audrey Taylor, Sharon Craven, Vanessa Swift (Jerry) and Gwendolyn Stewart (Lamar) all of Ozan, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 10am-5pm Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 3pm Saturday, April 20 St. Luke CME Church. Burial will be at St. Luke Gamble Cemetery in Ozan. Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
