Lona Lee Powell Archer
Lona Lee Powell Archer of Hope, Arkansas passed away at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock on October 1, 2019. Lona was born in Hope on February 21, 1932 to Emmett Wesley Powell and Rosa Lona Lee Burns Powell. She is proceeded in death by her husband Arlin Archer, parents, six brothers, five sisters and one granddaughter. Lona is survived by daughter Pamela Singleton (Jimmy) of Jessieville and son, Gregory Archer (Becky) of Benton, three granddaughters, Cindy Moore, Bethany Cole and Katelynn Archer, and two grandsons, Matthew Archer and Adam Archer, and many nieces and nephews.
Lona worked for over forty years in the insurance industry, most notably for Anderson Frazier Insurance and Barry Wilson Insurance. She was a life-long member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church and a great Christian lady. She loved and enjoyed people, and had a ready smile, easy laugh & a hello for anyone. Our beautiful Lona leaves behind many family members and countless friends.
Visitation will be held from 1pm to 2pm Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Providence Baptist Church, followed immediately by funeral services. Longtime friend Bro. Kenneth Bobo and Pastor Casey Curtis will be officiating. Interment service afterwards at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Hope.
