Marco Smith Sought in Shooting, Considered Armed and Dangerous

The suspect’s orange shirt was located by investigators. HPD said Smith may be wearing only the white shirt now, or has possibly changed his clothes. Also, the suspect may be wearing solid black low-top Puma shoes.
The Hope Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating Marco Smith, 42, of Hope. Smith, the HPD said, is considered armed and dangerous. He is wanted for allegedly shooting a man in the 700 block of W. Ave C at around 2:21 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4.
Officer from the Hope Police Department, assisted by Hempstead County Deputies, responded to a residence on W. Ave C after a 911 call reporting that a man at that address had been shot. According to the HPD, the victim was located with a bullet wound to his torso. Pafford EMS transported the victim to Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana.
Officers and Deputies searched the residence attempting to locate Smith, in case he was hiding but witnesses informed them that they saw Smith fleeing on foot from the residence after the shooting.
Smith is described as a black male; 6’ tall; about 165 pounds; clean shaven face and almost bald head. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt over a white shirt with khaki pants but is believed to have changed clothes. The HPD asks that if you see Smith or have any information on where he is, to please call 911 immediately.
