Mildred “Ruth” Harvel, age 78, of Hope, Arkansas passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 in Hope. She was born April 8, 1940 to James William and Nellie Pauline Rodden Rushing in Foreman, Arkansas. She was a member of Anderson Baptist Church and retired from Tyson Foods.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Esthel Harvel; one brother, Billy Rushing and one sister, Jewel Carter.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky Harvel and Greg Harvel; and two children she raised, Kim Carter Lane and Mike Carter; four brothers, Harold Rushing & Virginia, Johnny Rushing & Cathy, David Rushing & Evelyn, Jimmy Rushing & Brenda; three sisters, Mary Applegate, Lucille Hawthorne & Doyle, Dorothy “Polly” Willis; special friend Brad Lane; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 6-8pm Saturday, October 6, 2018 at HERNDON-FUQUA FUNERAL HOME of Hope.
Funeral service will be 2:00pm Sunday, October 7, 2018 at HERNDON-FUQUA FUNERAL HOME. Interment to follow in Huckabee Cemetery Bro. Ernie Sorrels officiating under the direction of HERNDON-FUQUA FUNERAL HOME of Hope.
