“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.” (Revelation 21:4)
Donald Ray Jones was born on June 26, 1962, in Hope, Arkansas, to Henry and Carrie Jones. He departed this life on April 18, 2026, surrounded by his family, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Donald was the first of five children. At an early age, he confessed his love for Christ at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Azar, AR. He and his family later joined Lonoke Baptist Church in Hope, AR. Donald graduated from Hope High School with the Class of 1980. Soon after, he was employed at Meyers Bakery for a short time.
Donald also served in the United States Air Force for 12 years. After being honorably discharged from the military, he worked at Firestone Tire Company in Prescott, AR. Donald was united in marriage to Liberty Vinas, and together they were blessed with a daughter and a son. He was a very dedicated father and husband to his family.
Donald was a reserved person but, at times, was vocal on various topics, especially sports and classic movies. He had a passion for music and often served as the DJ for family and friends. He also had a gift for barbecuing and bringing people together with great food and good times.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Alexander Jones Sr.; his maternal grandmother, Birdie Lee Mauldin; and his paternal grandparents, Edward and Sarah Jones.
Donald leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 34 years, Liberty Jones of Hope, AR; his daughter, Angelica Jones of Little Rock, AR; his son, Darius Jones of Fayetteville, AR; his mother, Carrie Jones of Hope, AR; his brothers, Christopher Allen Jones of Warner Robins, Georgia, Anthony Edward (Tara) Jones of Mesquite, Texas, and Henry Alexander (Kendrea) Jones Jr. of Little Rock, AR; his sister, Latoya (Detric) Spellman of Texarkana, AR; his special cousin-sister, Dana English; four aunts, Margaret Moss, Letish Wynn, Josie Jones, and Jackie McClure; one uncle, John J. Mauldin of Gilbert, Arizona; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and a beloved grand cat, Andre.
The memories we have of Donald will always be dear to our hearts. We should not mourn his passing, but rejoice, for he has gone to a home more beautiful than any we have ever known—HEAVEN!
