Reflections of His Life

Alvin D. Evans

Alvin David Evans, affectionately called "Honk," was born on December 22, 1953, to the late A.D. and Mamie Evans in Cale, Arkansas. He was married to Doris Evans for 38 years. His employment journey began as a logger, then transitioned to moving houses, and later returned to logging wood. Alvin was fiercely independent and worked tirelessly; he rarely missed a day. He will be fondly remembered for his infectious laughter and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Alvin departed this life on February 9, 2024, at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas, at the age of 70. He is sadly missed but forever in our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his parents, A.D. & Mamie Evans, son Andre Block, siblings Jonathan Evans Sr. and Ernest Lee Evans, nephews, special friends Albert Fields, and Jamie Ammons.

Alvin leaves to cherish his memories: wife Doris Evans; sons Samuel Evans of Magnolia, AR, Todd Evans of Rosston, AR, Marcus (Shaleka) Evans of Little Rock, AR, David Henry of Rosston, AR, and bonus son Dereak (Johnette) Evans of Little Rock, AR; daughters April Evans, Tiffani Evans, Ramona Evans, ShaMonica Evans, all of Rosston, AR, and Michelle (Shawn) Jefferson of Prescott, AR; 15 grandchildren; sisters Ruthie Moss, Dexter (Richard) Young, Yvonne (Clarence) Gulley, Merine Tidwell, Frances Evans, Diane Purifoy, Nadine Quarles; brothers Jewell (Debbie) Evans, Edward Jackson; and a host of nephews, nieces, close relatives, and friends.
