On December 9, 1918, a beautiful soul by the name of Ammie was born to Eliza Jenkins and William Walker. She was the oldest of eleven children and was often referred to as their second mother.
She grew up in Emmett, Arkansas where she helped care for her younger siblings. She later moved to Hope and married Wallace Johnson and to this union five children were born.

She took pride in working with the youth and putting the Family and Friends Day together. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Jerry (Shirley) Johnson and Charles Johnson, of Hope, Arkansas; one son-in-law, Isaiah Robinson of Mesquite, Texas; One daughter-in-law, Jacquiline Johnson; One brother, Odell Jenkins of Des Moines, Iowa; twelve grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren; Her adopted Family: The Anthony family, Carol, Gene, Alice Ann, Scott and their children; as well as a host of cousins, family and friends that will miss her dearly.
