Bernadette Johnson-Taylor
Bernadette Taylor, age 67, departed this life on May 27, 2026, at her brotherβs home in Ozan, Arkansas. She will be missed but never forgotten.
On February 14, 1959, in Ozan, AR, Bernadette was the fourteenth child born to Shirley and Versie Nelson Johnson.
At an early age, she joined St. Peter CME Church. She later attended First Church of God in Hope, AR, until her health no longer allowed her to attend.
Bernadette graduated from Lincoln High School in Washington, AR, with the Class of 1976. She loved shopping, watching television, and spending time with her family. She will be cherished forever by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Versie Johnson; four sisters, Ora Lee Walker, Alzean Stewart, Francis Jordan, and Louise Sampson; and three brothers, Glenn Johnson, A.D. Johnson, and Shirley Johnson Jr.
Bernadette leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Teaha Taylor Burton; three grandchildren, Lateasha, J'shanti, and Rihanna Burton, all of Texarkana, AR; two sisters, Mae E. Mixon of Ozan, AR, and Glenda Steward of McCaskill, AR; four brothers, Talmage (Alma) Johnson and Raymond Johnson, both of Flint, Michigan, and Larry (Marcia) Johnson and Odell Johnson, both of Ozan, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends.
