Bernard Price Webb
Bernard Price Webb, 82, of Columbus, Arkansas, went to be with our Lord, on January 5, 2023. He was born on August 31, 1940, in Ozan, Arkansas, and lived in Columbus most of his life, except for a few years when he lived in Hope, Arkansas, and worked as a salesman for J.B. Cook. He then came back to Columbus to work on the farm with his brother, Bobby Webb.
Bernard was very active in his community while overseeing a successful poultry and cattle operation. He was a member of the Columbus Baptist Church and served 42 years on the Hempstead County Farmers Association Board of Directors. Bernard also helped establish the Columbus Fire Department and served as its first Fire Chief.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bernard Columbus Webb and Ilene Harris-Webb-Mitchell. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Virginia Lee Moton-Webb, two sons William Stanley Webb (Dana), and Richard Lee Webb, one daughter Jennifer Denise Webb-Sigman (Chesley), seven grandchildren Kerry Webb-Miller (Kourtney), Katie Webb-Gladden (Lorne), Lynze Webb-Batte (Hunter), Caleb Webb, Ty Webb, Heston Sigman, and Madison Sigman, as well as, three great-grandchildren, Leah Bridgeman, Jacklyn Gladden, Kathryn Gladden, brother Bobby Webb (Gwen), sister-in-law Linda Wheatley and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Webb, Billy Bob Webb, Duane Webb, James McJunkins, James Stuart, Jim Jackson, Larry Griffin, and Doug Loop.
Graveside services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Columbus Cemetery with Jonathan Bush and Ben Jones officiating, under directions of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Homes-Hope.
