Carolyn M. Butler

Carolyn M. Butler, 73, of Hope, Arkansas, formerly of Bodcaw, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Texarkana, Texas. She was born June 6, 1947 in Hope, Arkansas to David and Maureen Hartsfield McKee.

Carolyn was a hairdresser for over 40 years. She worked at Jean’s Beauty Shop, in Hope, for many years and Julie’s Main Attraction also in Hope, before retiring in 2004. She was an active member of Unity Baptist Church where she attended Bro. Tropp’s Sunday School class. Anybody that knew Carolyn knew that she loved a good laugh, and that hers was an infectious one. Among her favorite movies were Mrs. Doubtfire and any one of the Madea movies. One of her favorite treats was getting the girls of the family together to go see the new Madea movies when they hit the movie theater.

Her very favorite pastime was chasing after one of her ten great grandchildren, and of course, laughing at their antics, as they could do no wrong in her eyes.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Don Butler; her parents; one sister, Patricia Osborn, and one brother, Carroll McKee.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Stacy Harding, Stephanie Lyons & Billy, Sharon Chandler & Mike; eleven grandchildren, Jacob Harding, Jenifer Smith, Jesse Harding, Zane Harding, Heather Hinton, Chris Pine, Alexa Banks, Kolby Reck, MaKenzie Chandler, Orey Chandler, and Braden Lyons; and ten great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 11:00am Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Union Cemetery in Bodcaw. Bro. Ed Phillips and Bro. James Adams will officiate under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
