Charles Edward Russell,

Mr. Charles Edward Russell, 80, of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 in Texarkana, Texas. Charles was born May 21, 1944, in Minden, Louisiana, to the late Berlin Russell and Viola Casey Russell.


Charles honorably served in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Randolph (CV-15) from 1962-1966. After his time in the Navy, he met the love of his life, Carolyn, and they were married in 1971. Together they raised their family with so much love and pride.


Charles was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan who looked forward to watching the Hogs play in the fall and watching Nascar on Sundays. He was an easy-going man who never met a stranger.


Charles is survived by two sons, Phillip Russell (Kelley) of Hope, and William Russell (Wendy) of Benton; six grandchildren, Jacob Russell (Brittany), Lakin Cortes (Luis), Dalton HuIett, Jack Russell, Courtney Stone, and Dustin Stone; four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Layne, Addie, and Luca; daughter-in-law, Selina Russell; two sisters, Reba Morehead (Charles) and Melba Skinner; one brother, Tommy Russell (Ada); sister-in-law, Yvonne Russell; and special son, Julian Alvarez. 


He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 48 years, Carolyn Russell; one son, Mark Russell; one sister, Linda Crane; and one brother, David Russell.


Visitation will be held at Brazzel Oakcrest Chapel on November 29 from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM, with graveside service to follow at 2:00 PM at Foster Cemetery.


Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brazzel Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope. Ben Brazzel Director.
